If you are looking for activities, which involve a little more effort than relaxing on the terrace you will not be short of options around Olive Tree House. Below you will find a selection of suggestions.

Walking:

There are hundreds of interesting walks in the local area all of which will show you the real Greek countryside and have impressive sights to see. Please feel free to borrow the various maps and books from the landing bookshelf to plan your explorations.

Cycling:

If you wish to explore the Mani by bike then bike hire can be arranged for days or for the entirety of your stay. In particular "2407" in Kardamyli offers bike hire and information about the best trails in the area. They also have a shop with everything you would need for getting the most of your trip.

Horse Riding:

Horse lover? The peloponnese has some of the most beautiful countryside in Greece and what better way than to explore it on horseback. Around Kalamata there are a couple of riding stables which offer guided trekking and lessons.

Beach Volleyball:

There are a few beach bars which have volleyball courts to use for free the most well known are at Akti Beach Bar (Sandova beach) and Cosi Beach Bar (Verga Beach.) Play to your hearts content, make new friends or enjoy a drink whilst the rest of your party play. Street Basketball is also available at Akti Beach Bar.

Go Karting:

If you have a need for speed go-karting is just the thing for you. Between Kalamata Marina and Kalamata Airport on the coast road is a small racetrack called San Nikolas Pista where you can hire go-karts for a set amount of time. Full instruction are provided along with helmets. Trainers are advised. There is a cafe/bar over looking the track for anyone not so keen on taking part.

Sailing:

The messinian bay is beautiful place to visit and why not get even closer and go sailing. There are organised boat trips which sail from the marina and there is also a sailing club on Kalamata seafront. For more information please visit Messinia Sailing.
